There are several lifestyle factors that may help reduce the risk of developing cancer. Some strategies that may be helpful include:

  • Maintaining a healthy weight: Being overweight or obese increases the risk of certain types of cancer, such as breast, colorectal, and pancreatic cancer.
  • Exercising regularly: Physical activity can help maintain a healthy weight and reduce the risk of cancer. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise, such as brisk walking, on most days of the week.
  • Eating a healthy diet: A diet that is rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains and low in processed meats, sugary drinks, and refined grains may help reduce the risk of cancer.
  • Avoiding tobacco: Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death and disease worldwide, including cancer. Quitting smoking or never starting can significantly reduce the risk of cancer and other serious health problems.
  • Limiting alcohol intake: Consuming alcohol in excess has been linked to an increased risk of certain types of cancer, such as breast, colorectal, and liver cancer. If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation, which is defined as one drink per day for women and two drinks per day for men.
  • Protecting your skin from the sun: Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun or tanning beds can increase the risk of skin cancer. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 when you are outdoors, and try to avoid being in the sun during the peak hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Food for Cancer Prevention.

A diet high in whole foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats and lean protein may lower one’s risk of cancer. Conversely, processed meats, refined carbs, salt and alcohol may increase your risk.

Though no diet has been proven to cure cancer, plant-based and keto diets may lower your risk or benefit treatments.

Cancer affected people have low immunity because of high dosage treatment. Thus, foods that help to increase immune levels must be given. High immune food includes Orange, Spinach, red pigment fruit like tomato, pawpaw as it contains lycopene which helps to reduce the cell division.

Alkaline diets should be given to decrease the PH of the body. It included foods like vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, soybean, tofu.

Healthy and balanced diet that includes a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins can support the immune system. Some specific nutrients that are important for immune function include:

  • Vitamin A: found in sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkins, spinach, and red bell peppers
  • Vitamin C: found in citrus fruits, strawberries, kiwi, spinach, and bell peppers
  • Vitamin E: found in nuts, seeds, and vegetable oils
  • Zinc: found in shellfish, beef, pork, and fortified cereals

In addition to eating a healthy diet, staying hydrated and getting enough sleep can also support the immune system. It’s also important to practice good hygiene, such as washing your hands frequently and covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
