5 Tips To Prevent Tooth Decay From Sugar Food

It is known that when you eat sugar food the bacteria in your mouth produce acid. This acid dissolves the enamel of your teeth, causing tooth decay and cavities to form

Cavities and tooth decay are among the world’s most common health problems. They’re especially common in children, teenagers and older adults. But anyone who has teeth can get cavities, including infants. If cavities aren’t treated, they get larger and affect deeper layers of your teeth. They can lead to a severe toothache, infection and tooth loss. Regular dental visits and good brushing and flossing habits are your best protection against cavities and tooth decay.

Don’t be afraid to prevents from tooth decay the following tips are helpful.

1.Eat fewer sugary snack between meals

If you have a healthy snack, like a carrot, in between breakfast and lunch you will burn the carrot, but you will not burn any stored fat between those two meals. If you don’t snack between lunch and supper, your body will be forced to burn stored fat to get you to supper without a blood sugar crash. This help on prevent tooth decay as the remained food particle will be swayed in during the meal time.

2.Exchange for sugar free drinks such as milk or water.

After water, tea and coffee are the two most commonly consumed beverages on the planet. Drunk plain, they are calorie-free beverages brimming with antioxidants, flavonoids, and other biologically active substances that may be good for health. Green tea, especially the strong variety served in Japan, has received attention for its potential role in protecting against heart disease, while coffee may help protect against type 2 diabetes.

3.Consume food and drinks containing sugar at mealtimes

During meal time it is advised that sugar food  and drinks should be taken too. This will prevent accumulation of the sugar in the teeth . Also help on the mouth clean.

4.Eat fewer sugary food that sticks to your teeth such as sweets and dried fruits.

Some foods and beverages are better for your teeth than others. Avoid foods that get stuck in grooves and pits of your teeth for long periods, or brush soon after eating them. However, foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables increase saliva flow, and unsweetened coffee, tea and sugar-free gum help wash away food particles.

5.Brush with fluoride toothpaste after eating or drinking.

Brush your teeth at least twice a day and ideally after every meal, using fluoride-containing toothpaste. To clean between your teeth, floss or use an interdental cleaner.

However, prefer to take fruits juice and dairy as their sugars are less likely to cause tooth decay and during mealtimes is the best time. Limit foods and drinks with high amounts of added sugar. Choose foods with naturally occurring sugars such as fresh fruits.

What are Food Good For enhance Strong Teeth?

Here are some foods that can help to improve and strengthen your teeth:

  • Cheese: Cheese is high in calcium, which helps to strengthen tooth enamel. It also contains casein, a protein that can help to repair damaged teeth.
  • Leafy green vegetables: Vegetables such as broccoli, spinach, and kale are high in calcium and vitamins A and C, which can help to keep teeth healthy.
  • Nuts: Nuts such as almonds and Brazil nuts are high in calcium and protein, which can help to strengthen tooth enamel.
  • Salmon: Salmon is a good source of vitamin D, which is essential for the absorption of calcium and the development of strong teeth.
  • Apples: Apples are high in water and fiber, which can help to clean the teeth and gums. They also contain malic acid, which can help to remove stains from the surface of the teeth.
  • Carrots: Carrots are high in water and fiber, which can help to clean the teeth and gums. They also contain vitamin A, which is important for the health of the gums.
  • Water: Drinking plenty of water can help to rinse away food particles and bacteria from the mouth, which can help to prevent tooth decay.

In addition to including these foods in your diet, it is important to practice good oral hygiene by brushing your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, flossing daily, and visiting the dentist regularly.
